Pros: After reading several reviews on Booking.com, Google & Trip Advisor, I wasn‘t sure what to expect, since some of them are extremely negative. After my stay I can tell for sure that Semeli Hotel is a great place to stay in one of the nicest districts of Athens. The neighbourhood is lively and safe. I don’t understand why some of the reviews call the neighbourhood dangerous etc. Kipseli is super. Near by, there are plenty of nice Cafés, Bistrots, stores and several bus connections to every region of Athens. The staff is the best, generous and always present. The furniture is not new, but charming. Roomservice does a great job daily. I would certainly recommend a stay and come back!
Cons: (Only thing: In the rooms with the category „budget“, there is a smell of old smoke. We‘ve stayed there for some nights and opening the windows now and then - which is possible even in summer because the budget rooms are on the first floor where it is rather cool climate even on hot days, which is really pleasant - made it way better. If you can‘t stand the smoke of cigarettes, I would recommend booking a room in the category „superior“, which is only some € more. We switched the room after four nights when we extended our stay and there was no smell of smoke in the new room.)

Pros: The position was convenient for my purpose. Close to shope, cafes and restaurant's. Close to all forms of transport. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: The hotel could do with some refurbishment. Tea making facilities in the rooms? I have stayed here before and would certainly stay again.

Sweet, practical and comfortable.
Pros: Nicely located in the Kypseli neighborhood. Close to the public transport but away of the buzz. Comfortable bed, super clean and practical.
Cons: I missed to have a water cooker or kettle to make tea in the morning…. but this is only a personal preference and wish.

Nice hotel with a very good location
Pros: Location is good, 15 mins walking from the metro station, lots of shops, supermarkets and cafes in the area. We felt safe because there was police station just opposite the hotel. :) The room had all facilities needed, it was big and comfortable. The price was good.
Cons: Wifi connection could be more reliable - internet disappears sometimes.

Pros: The staff were amazing. The staff were friendly and made me feel at home.
Cons: The room generally was tired. I was supposedly ungraded but it wasn't very good. Poor plumbing in the bathroom. The carpets needed replacing. . The bed was very comfortable.

I'd stay again!
Pros: The room was perfect for me to be travelling alone. It is cheap and you get what you pay for; no frills! But I slept well each night, and loved not having to share a bathroom. Convenient location with bus stops close by. Staff were super friendly and helpful! Room was clean and tidy and everything I needed.
Cons: The shower handle was broken so the moveable arm had to balance on a shelf, but I made it work.

Budget hotel, friendly staff, nice room (apart from the bathroom).
Pros: I liked the location of the hotel. Although it wasn't located in the best neighborhood, the bus stop was two minutes from the hotel, and there was a police station across the street, so we kind of felt safe 😅 Also the staff was really kind ^^ they let us check in an hour early, and also kept our stuff at the reception after the check out, which we retrieved a few hours later. The room isn't that big, but it's ok for two people, and I also liked the full length mirror, essential for me and my friend.
Cons: The bathroom would really need a renovation, the shower head was a bit broken and the shower curtain seemed old. The rooms were far from soundproof. I went to the bathroom at night and heard the couple next door having a private moment.
